Translated as “The Breezes”, the Las Brisas Chardonnay quintessentially captures the Sta. Rita Hills typicity by showcasing its oceanic influence delivering a wine that has citrus-like dessert intensity and precision while remaining vibrant and flavorful. This wine always leans towards a livelier and fresher personality on the palate and has subtle hints of minerals, saline and French oak supporting its drive.
Las Brisas is always picked first, a product of its Dijon clonal material. Lemon citrus, white stone fruit and a line of salinity lead the wine, and the palate is soft and pillowy, like catching snowflakes in your mouth, and finishes with a delicate creaminess from French oak. It is a complex Chardonnay that just has more elegance and deftness that our richer Caitlin’s Chardonnay, and provides immense drinking pleasure, albeit in a more nuanced way. Enjoy with anything white protein wise that is lightly prepared, grilled and sauced. Citrus, herb and olive oil-based sauces will excel with this wine too.
