2025 Evan's Ranch Caitlin's Chardonnay

Proudly named for Dan Gainey’s youngest daughter Caitlin, this is a stunning Chardonnay that reflects a fuller-bodied style of wine with impressive richness, depth and weight. It is stylistically different from the Las Brisas, which leans towards a lighter, crisper and fresher style.  Caitlin's Chardonnay is grown on sandy soils and is made predominantly from Clone 4, which is known to ripen later and therefore gains more flavor, while also maintaining a lot of its natural acidity and vibrancy. 

The Caitlin’s pick always comes in a few weeks later due to the heritage clonal material that forms the backbone of this wine. The fruit therefore is more opulent and exotic, allowing Jeff to be slightly more liberal with new French oak, creating a rounder and richer wine while also preserving the high natural acidity.
