This is our 2nd vintage of Petite Sirah and we could not be happier with the results. Petite Sirah was first discovered in the mid 1800s in France by Francois Durif and is related to Syrah and Peloursin, a largely extinct grape. It is known for having small berries in tight clusters, and for a bold, robust structure, dark inky color, high tannins and medium acidity. There are very few plantings in Santa Barbara County and we think our refrigerated-sunlight climate captures the boldness, beguiling aromatics and vivacity associated with this grape’s best qualities. Enjoy with BBQ, rich and exotic spiced meat sauces. 100% Estate Gainey Home Ranch. Harvested October 31. 21 months in 25% new French oak. 14.1% alcohol. pH 3.53 TA 6.5g/L. 181 cases.
