2022 Evan's Ranch Las Brisas Syrah

Las Brisas Syrah is named for the persistent breezes emanating from the nearby Pacific Ocean that caress our vines at Evan’s Ranch. These breezes exert a beneficial effect on Syrah, a variety that reaches its apex of quality in cool-climate regions like France’s Northern Rhône Valley and California’s South Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills.  Compared to our Lone Oak Syrah, Las Brisas is the earthier, spicier and more powerful of our two Evan’s Ranch Syrahs.  It beautifully captures the savory characteristics of the grape.  In addition to fragrant black raspberry, dark cherry and blackcurrant aromas, Las Brisas offers complex scents of  white pepper, black licorice, roasting meat and wild herbs. Its deeply concentrated, dark fruit flavors are framed by sturdy, but supple tannins and a long, rich finish with savory spice and chocolate tones. Enjoy with roasted meats and savory dishes.  Delicious young, Las Brisas Syrah ages beautifully for 5-7 years from the date it was bottled.
